A strong commitment to Continuing Education
In today's world, the amount of technical and scientific information available is tremendous. To maintain my knowledge and skills at the highest level possible, I continually keep up to date with published scientific journals and papers, attend seminars of colleagues both locally and across the country, and continue to study at the best of educational forums available for advanced dental training. My goal is to be able to provide the best dental care available. I continually put my efforts into maintaining my dental skills at the highest level.
Education is a lifetime process, and continuing to learn is a vital part of a high quality dental practice. I am committed to maintaining a current knowledge of the best practices and procedures in dentistry to assure the best result for our patients. Over the years I have attended countless courses and seminars on practice management, aesthetic dentistry, periodontics and implant prosthetics.
Spear Institute of Advanced Dentistry
The Spear Institute of Advanced Dentistry provides participating dentists an opportunity to obtain the highest quality, most comprehensive, broad-based education for state-of-the-art dental skills and techniques. It is their goal to create a place that dentists and teams can trust for pragmatic, evidence-based, patient-centered knowledge delivered with truth and integrity. The Spear Institute is recognized internationally for its leadership in post graduation education. As a student of the Spear Institute, I continue to advance my training and understanding of dental care and comprehensive dental restorative procedures.
Most recently I attended and participated in the Spear Institute's seminar on “Mastery Level Esthetics.” This seminar focused on the most effective dental products available for restoring patient's mouths along with guidelines for understanding the uses of these products and how to use photography in helping a patient to understand and plan their treatment.
I also attended a seminar which addressed “occlusion” or how a patient's “bite” can affect their overall dental well-being and even their overall general health. Proper occlusion can sometimes eliminate certain types of dental pain and even head or neck discomfort.
This year, in 2010, I will be attending a workshop on occlusion which will delve beyond the initial seminar which I took in 2009, wherein the affects of improper dentition (bite) will be discussed in-depth and treatments for correction of malocclusions will be studied.
I attend education and training programs at the Spear Institute several times each year. I am a Faculty Club member which provides me with a direct link to the best scientific and technical researchers and practitioners in the country.
